エステライヒャー・イン・MAKはウィーンに行く度に出かけたくなる
大好きなレストランです。
オーストリア応用美術館（MAK）の中にあります。
高くなくて、もちろんおいしくて、スタッフは気取らなくて感じがよく、
デザインは美しくてユーモラスな所もあって素敵。凄いでしょ。
建築家は有名なアイヒンガー・オーダー・クネヒトル、

と言われても残念ながら知らないのですが、
高い天井に輝く、ワインボトルで作った巨大シャンデリアは

Oesterreicher in MAK is the favorite restaurant
which I am pleased to visit whenever I am staying in Vienna.
It is situated in Museum for Applied Arts(MAK).
The dishes are not expensive and nevertheless very delicious.
Staffs are natural and agreable.
Design is beautiful, but at somes parts amusing,
or even funny. So it is wonderful, isn't it?
Architects are the duo known as Eichinger or Knechtl,
though I myself am not so aquainted with them.
But I am always glad to see the gigantic chandelier made of wine bottles
which is glittering under the high ceiling.

天井の飾り方、ワインボトルの置き方、鏡や黒板の使い方も素敵です。
ここで天井を見上げるとオペラのことを思います。
ウィーンに１週間、なんとか時間やお財布をやりくりしてやってくるのはオペラが観たいからです。
今回もあの素晴らしい音のオーケストラ、驚異の合唱団、
夢のような声と声量の歌手の方たちに、毎晩幸せを感じました。
演出は好きなのとムカッとするのとあるので全部好きとは言えませんが。
（といってもいわゆる読み替えはやだ、というのではなく、読み替え方がいやなものがあるということですが）
オペラのことはあまりにおもしろいので、超素人ながら感想を後で書いてみたくなります。
で、天井ですが、この古い飾り天井に現代のデザインの照明、すっきりした家具類、
これはあちこちの都市で見かけますが、オペラの舞台も衣装もとてもこんな印象のものが多く思います。
美しさの今日性のこと、オペラの美術のことなど
ダラダラとランチしながらぼーっと思わせてくれる、良き天井店です。
Tge style of decorating thd ceiling, setting wine bottles,
and making use of the mirror and the black board is also very nice.
Looking up the ceiling here, I remind myself of operas.
It is because of the purpose to see operas
that I come to Vienna for about a week manaing time and money anyhow.
This time too, I felt happy every night listening to the orchestra of wounderful sound,
the superb chorus, and singers of rich and dreamlike voices.
As for stage directors, I was not satisfied whth all of them,
because some performances were pleasant, but others were even disgustful.
(I've little idea of denying a unique style of reading,
but actually there are some disgustful.)
Operas are so interesesting that I myself,
though quite amateur, am going to write some comments.
Back to the ceiling, this old-style decorated ceiling and the lighting
of modern design remind me of the stages and costumes
of operas in many cities in Europe, which gives me the same impression.
Thinking of contemporariness of beauty, fine arts in operas,
I was taking lunch lazily under the niceceiling of thIs restaurant.
有名なシェフのヘルムート・エステライヒャーと言われてもこれまた残念ながら知らないのですが、
オーソドックスなオーストリア料理を少し軽くてあっさり、量も多いけれど、
いわゆる地元料理店の象さんのランチみたいではなくて、
７割くらいにしてあって、今まであまりに大きくて食べるのが恐ろしかったウィンナーシュニッツェルも
こんなに下のお皿が見えて、ほっとします。それにサクサクしてとてもおいしいの。
他店のをいただいたことがないので比較できませんが、腹ぺこランチにはおすすめです。
つけあわせはじゃがいもとつまみ菜のサラダ。
スーパーマーケットで見たじゃがいもの種類がたくさんで、全部買って食べ比べしてみたくなりました。
じゃがいもにお詳しい方、教えてくださいね。
Famous chef Helmut Oesterreicher, though I myself am not aquainted with him,
arranges orthodox Austrian dishes so as to be taken lightly for us
Japanese treating them not so voluminous as,
so to speak, lunch for elephants at many local restaurants, but in about 70% volume.
That Viennese cutlet, which is usually so big as to make us terrible for eating it,
is made so as to be able to see the surface of the dish under it. What a relief!
As for taste, it is crispy and very delicious,
though I cannot compare for I've not taken it at another restaurant.
Anyway it is reaommendable as appetizing lunch.

Kinds of potatoes, which I've seen at super market, are various,
and I wanted to buy them all and eat to compdre them.
Please, anybody who knows all about potatoes, give me the information!

窓際にずらーっとつながったベンチソファがあるのだから、おちびさんならこれがしたいよね。
薄紫色のシャツもピンクの飾りのついたデニムもかわいいね、とほめたらどう見てもおそろいなんだけど、
お姉様は私のは新品である、妹のは違うとおっしゃっていました。

おもしろいお手洗い。こんな円柱ブースがいくつかくっついています。
Interesting toilet.
There are several round booths of such shape.
洗面部分。どうやのるかお分かりになりますか？左のレバーを下げると、
巨大製氷器のようなのの中央からじょぼじょぼと水がでてくるのです。
私は欧州のナゾナゾのようなバスルームが大好きです。
素敵で不思議なデザインのバスルームを見る度に
「わーい、きっとこうだ！」と使い方をみつけて得意になります。
他の人はどうだろうと待っていると、やってくるくる「ん！？」と洗面部で立ち尽くす方々が。
「そのレバーだよーん」と料理屋さんのお手洗いで得意に教える馬鹿旅行者でした。
バスルームに限らず、アパートやホテルのキッチンにも居間にも、
美術館や駅にも同じナゾナゾがいっぱいで匍匐前進のちび子ちゃんと同じに大喜びして大得意になります。
お手洗いといえば、以前出かけたバイロイト歌劇場のお手洗いのお掃除奥さんも愉快でした。
モップでせっせとお掃除しながらワルキューレを高らかに歌っていたのです。
さすがバイロイト。

Pressing down the lever at the left side,
water is welling gradually from the center of ice tray-like apparatus.
I like enigmatic bath room apparatus very much.
Whenever I encounter the bath room of wonderful and mysterious design,
I cry in mind: "Ah, it must be so!", and am elated to find how to use it.
Waiting to know whether others can find the solution,
there appeas certainly someone who remains standing in front of thd washstand,
and in a low voice: "Hey!?" "That lever, you know!"
I was a kind of meddlesome traveler who have sometimes instructed them proudly.
Not only in bath rooms, but also at the kitchen of hotels or appartments,
and museums or railway stations, there many puzzles of such kinds,
and I am so glad to find the key for them as that little girl making creeping headway.
As for toilet, the cleaning woman whom I've once met
at the toiletin Bayreuther Festival Theater was delightful,
too. She was singing the song of the Valkyries loudly cleaning the floor with a mop.
Truly, it's Bayreuth!
